All posts and comments must be concise, contain meaningful content, avoid the use of inappropriate language or content, and make attempts to use proper writing mechanics - grammar, spelling, capitalization and punctuation.
All interns will need to cite the reference material on which they are commenting.

Assignment:
After you have read the linked article and reviewed the rules, make a comment on this blog.
Pick out the rule from the "10 Tips" article that you think is most important, and tell why. Review the blog rubric and identify which area you feel you will have the most difficulty.
My favorite rule is #8 which is, edit your post, last year I had a really bad habit of not going back and proof reading, you never know who's reading your blog!
ReplyDeleteFrom the article by Darren Rowse, "10 tips," I feel like the most important rule is "250 words is enough," because once blog posts get to be very lengthy, the readers become bored and will not have interest in reading your blog again. I feel the most worried about the grammar section on the grading rubric because, I can make little, accidental mistakes without knowing. I am very organized, so the other key points, having to do with formatting will not effect me.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading the 10 tips, I think the one that is most important is rule #3 (Write Less/ Be concise), because other bloggers do not want to read a whole page, it is easier for them to read and be interested in a short, concise blog. I feel that I will have the most trouble with the grammar section, for i can make many mistakes without realizing, and then post it to the web for many others to see.
ReplyDeleteFrom the article "10 Tips", I decided that the most important rule is "Write Less" because you want to be entertaining or (Intern)taining enough to get people to want to read, but not so long that you are boring everyone to sleep.
ReplyDeleteI think I will have the most trouble with the grammar section because sometimes I miss my own typos.
DeleteAfter looking at the 10 tips, a rule I found most important was rule number 8, edit your post. I think that a lot of people just type a bunch of words and don't read it over, so it makes you look less intelligent than you actually are just because you misspelled, or misused a word. So, I think it is very important to look it over or people will get frustrated with reading what you wrote because you have a trillion mistakes.
ReplyDeleteThe most important rule is to write less. It is also the hardest one to follow, because I like to talk (write) a lot. Also the hardest part of the rubric is writing mechanics, because I often type really fast and don't double check my work.
ReplyDeleteThose rules are pretty self explanatory.
ReplyDeleteThe most important rule for blogging is to make bulleted lists because they are easy to read and give the reader a break from long sentences. The rule that will be the most difficult for me to follow will most definitely be writing less than 250 words. Once I get to writing, I tend to explain every single detail and go off on tangents.

ReplyDeleteThe most important rule is to get your opinion across, that's the point of writing it. The hardest is to make it 250 or less, I tend to embellish and go overboard.

ReplyDeleteAfter reading the 10 Tips article, I think the most important rule is to write with passion because if you don't care about what you're blogging about then no one who is reading it will either. I think the hardest part of the rubric is the mechanics because I tend to not catch my own mistakes so becoming used to reviewing and editing my work will be difficult for me.
ReplyDeletei think the most important tip is to get right to the point. i most worrried about proper writing.
ReplyDeleteThe most important rule for blogging that I read from the 10 Tips article is to be consistent with your style. You don't want your reader to get a headache just from reading one of your paragraphs because you didn't stick to one style. So settle for one style and stick with it. I think that spelling will be difficult for me because I am not very good at spelling some words and sometimes I don't even realize that I spelled it wrong.
ReplyDeleteI think that I will have the most trouble with proper punctuation and proper capitalization. I have a tendency to use a lot of ellipses as well as dots.
ReplyDeleteI think the most important tip on blogging, is keeping it short and right to the point for readers.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the most important rule for blogging is to write passionately. Nothing captivates a reader more than a passionate blogger with passionate stories. I think the most difficult guideline to follow is writing 250 characters or less! Especially when you're a passionate writer. They have way more than 250 characters to say!
ReplyDeleteI think that the most important rule in one's blog is to make one's posts easy to scan because if someone is in a hurry they do not want to have to focus on every line of someone's blog. I feel that grammar is going to be my most difficult thing to stay on top of in my blog.
ReplyDeleteI believe that the most rule for blogging is to write with passionately. Is better to know what you are writing about and to be interested in the subject so you can write great ideas.
ReplyDeleteI believe the most important rule for blogging is keeping it short and to the point. If you make blogs long it becomes very boring to read and people loose interest.
ReplyDeleteI think the number 1 rules is to keep it short but and legible to get the point across. If you make a blog long it seems boring and you end up sounding like you are babbling.
ReplyDeleteThe most important rule is "Make your opinion known".
ReplyDeleteWhen people look at others' blogs, they're looking for a separate personality with a strong voice and a strong mentality. I believe the hardest rule on the rubric will be grammar; in today's time with social media it's difficult to find people with clear, correct grammar.
I think that the number for keeping short and to the point because when it is really long then people will to want to read it anymore and it will become boring.
ReplyDeleteI think that the number for keeping short and to the point because when it is really long then people will to want to read it anymore and it will become boring.
ReplyDeleteI think #7 "include bullet point lists" is important because it clearly indicates what the reader should know. Bullet points help show what is important and what the author of the blog is trying to get across.
